The VSTA office has received many inquiries today regarding travel and COVID-19. The Ministry of Health has advised against non-essential travel outside of the country. At this point we have no assurance that teachers who choose to travel abroad will be able to access sick leave during self-isolation upon return.  read more…

The Continuity of Learning Planning Guide is provided to support teachers in preparing to provide continuity of educational opportunities for students during the current COVID-19 pandemic. This work includes developing plans and using alternative delivery methods to provide curriculum, instruction, assessment and assistance to students and families.

Supporting the K-12 Education Response to COVID-19 in BC
The Ministry of Education has prepared a framework document for how learning is to continue while students are not physically in school.

The Vancouver School District continues to take the lead of our public health authority, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). Please visit its website for information and updates, including an FAQ. We will continue to share new information from the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Health Officer and VCH as it becomes available.
