Transgender Day of Visibility – March 31st

Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is celebrated annually on March 31st to honor the transgender community and raise awareness about the discrimination they face worldwide. Established in 2009 by Michigan-based transgender activist Rachel Crandall, TDOV was created to acknowledge and celebrate living transgender individuals, complementing the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memorializes those lost to anti-transgender violence.

Some ways to mark the day:
️‍⚧️ Put up posters or visuals affirming trans rights
️‍⚧️ Acknowledge TDOV in announcements or lessons
️‍⚧️ Wear trans pride colors (blue, pink, and white)
️‍⚧️ Check in with trans students & colleagues to see how they’d like support
