TTOCs and ESA Sick Leave

Did you work as TTOC between April 1, 2022, and June 31, 2024?

Were you denied paid sick leave when you declined calls due to illness?  If so, you may be eligible for compensation.  If you are eligible, please complete the TTOC Employment Standards Act Paid Sick Leave Claim Form no later than April 22, 2026. If the link above is not accessible, please use the alternate link provided below: <https://forms.office.com/r/cR0mH9kzHG>

The district claims form asks for: Information and documentation supporting my claim for ESA Sick Leave. Examples of documentation you could attach include:

  • A photo/screen shot of a calendar or journal entry
  • A copy of a log kept showing calls declined due to illness
  • A record of medical treatment (hospital admission; pharmacy receipt with any details of the illness blacked out)
  • Payroll records showing days missed
  • Any other records you used to track calls, responses to calls, days worked and/or illnesses

NOTE: If you don’t have any documents to attach but remember declining a call due to illness, you can still submit the form and provide any details you recall.  For example:

  • I remember declining a call due to illness on that day because I also missed my child’s dance recital.
  • I recall declining calls due to illness the last three days before the winter break.
  • I was in a car accident on X date and declined calls due to illness for the rest of the week.
  • I recall being called out every day that month and accepting every call except one on a day I was sick.

Should you have any questions, please contact the VSTA office.

In Solidarity,
Carmen, Carl, and John
