GENERAL MEETING

Teri Mooring, 1st Vice-President of the BCTF, will provide a provincial update. Other agenda items include: Election of 18 delegates and 2 alternates to the BCTF AGM The 2019 BCTF Annual General Meeting is from March 16–19 at the Victoria Conference Centre. Elected delegates from throughout the province set policy and future directions. Accommodation is provided at The Hotel Grand Pacific and delegates will be reimbursed for meals and mileage, and self-parking, if required, will be billed to the BCTF. Childcare will also be available. Read “Why I Attended an AGM” by Alyssa Reid. If you are interested in participating, please complete the nomination form.   Deadline for nomination forms is FRIDAY, JANUARY 18, 2019. Delegates may also be elected from the floor of the General Meeting. Constitution & By-laws amendments The VSTA Executive are recommending the following amendments to the Constitution & By-Laws: THAT the VSTA amend its Constitution and By-laws to create 3.11 which states that the seconded In-House Table Officers will be remunerated for the commensurate portion of their secondment to the VSTA Office. [This is the current practice, but it must be in the by-laws to satisfy the Societies Act.] THAT the VSTA establish a TTOC Standing Committee. Building Update Members will receive an update.
