Support Vancouver Hotel Workers

UNITE HERE Local 40 represents hotel workers

UNITE HERE Local 40 has been on strike against many of Vancouver’s most prominent luxury hotels. While they have achieved settlements that include significant wage increases and improved working conditions with most, they have been unable to achieve a settlement with the Hotel Georgia and the Belmont. They are disproportionately, women of colour, immigrants, and First Nations. We note that as an Association, we make use of unionized hotels hoping that employees are being treated fairly while harbouring concerns that reasonable labour practices are not always being adhered to.
