Our warmest thoughts and best wishes go out to you and yours for a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year. We wish you a relaxing break filled with happiness, rest and rejuvenation, doing what you love with those you love.
As we close out 2025, we have a few reminders for you – to put your name forward to be a VSTA candidate to the BCTF AGM, to save the date for the BCTF Bargaining Update and to mark January 21st on your calendar for our General Meeting. We also have an upcoming social in January for members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.

BCTF AGM Candidate Nomination
The BCTF Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place from March 14 to 17, 2026. VSTA members who are interested in representing the VSTA can fill in a nomination form to run as a candidate. The deadline for nominations is Friday, January 16, 2026 at 5:00PM.
BCTF Provincial Bargaining Update – Tuesday, January 6, 2026, 4-5:30pm via Zoom
The BCTF 2nd Vice President, Winona Waldron, will provide a bargaining update on January 6th via Zoom. Registration is required to join the session. Click here to register. After registering you will receive a confirmation email including information about joining the meeting.
2026 2SLGBTQIA+ Social
VSTA General Meeting – Wednesday, January 21, 2026, via Zoom
Save the Date! During this meeting, additional nominations for the positions of VSTA delegates to the BCTF AGM can also be made from the floor. Further details about the GM will be shared in January.

At this time the only available version of the new 2019-22 Collective Agreement is from BCPSEA. VSTA is currently in the process of melding our local language with the provincial collective agreement. We will make the melded version available ASAP.
